Ra-Ro

Creative Direction, Documentary, Content, Photography, Storytelling
Ra-Ro is a platform built to preserve cultural and natural heritage through objects, stories and craft.

BROTO partnered with Ra-Ro to bring these stories to life — creating two intimate mini-documentaries focused on some of the project’s most meaningful producers, filmed in their own environments, at their own pace.

The work was expanded with documentary photography on location and a complete product photography set, building a visual system where people, process and objects are inseparable.

#1 Mini Docs

1.000 Degrees

Soenga is a clay craft practiced for centuries, today reduced to a single active master in Europe.

This short documentary follows his daily work — the making, the fire and the time required by the process.
With no continuation beyond his own workshop, the survival of the craft now depends on the transmission of knowledge to his son. Without it, soenga would disappear.

The film documents the process as it is practiced today, without reconstruction or interpretation.

#1 Mini Docs

O Fio Da Vida

The cobertor de papa is woven on a manual loom over 300 years old, using techniques passed down through generations.

This documentary follows the work inside the workshop where the craft has been practiced for decades, including the hands of a woman who has worked there her entire life. The film focuses on the loom, the material and the rhythm of weaving — recording a process that has remained largely unchanged over time.

#2 Documentary Photography

Producers (On location)

After documenting the crafts through film, the project moved into the places where the work actually happens.

Selected Ra-Ro producers were photographed on location, inside their workshops and working environments. The focus shifted to the details of making — hands, tools, materials and routines — capturing how each object is produced, step by step, in its own context.

#3 Studio Photography

Products

Once the processes and people were documented, all products were photographed in studio.

A restrained and more refined setup was used, creating a clear and consistent visual language for the collection. These images complete the narrative, connecting the objects shown on the platform to the stories, places and processes behind them.
